  10. The Cooking FDN consists of a Tick-based file distribution comprised of
  11. 9 (nine) file areas, and a sysop message conference where questions,
  12. suggestions, and other input relating to the administration of this FDN
  13. are welcome and encouraged.

  31.  NOTE: The COOKFDN-SYSOPS echo is not available from every site where
  32.        COOKFDN files are distributed.  If your feed cannot provide the
  33.        echo to you, you may wish to poll for it from a system which does
  34.        carry it, or you may receive/post messages via a mailing list if
  35.        you have Internet email access.

  47.  COOKFDN FILE GUIDELINES

  50.  1. These types of files are acceptable for distribution via COOKFDN:
  51.  
  52.       * Shareware and freeware programs
  53.       * Material which is in the public domain
  54.       * Copyrighted material FOR WHICH WRITTEN PERMISSION HAS BEEN
  55.         GIVEN BY THE COPYRIGHT HOLDER TO COPY AND DISTRIBUTE
  56.  
  57.  2. These types of files are UNACCEPTABLE for distribution by COOKFDN:
  58.  
  59.       * Commercial (non-shareware) software
  60.       * Copyrighted material for which the copyright owner has
  61.         not granted permission to distribute
  62.       * Recipes, articles, or other text files which lack attribution
  63.         to a source of origin (author, publication name, etc.).
  64.       * Demoware which allows little or no user-interaction, and
  65.         only serves as an advertisement for a commercial product
  66.  
  67.  3. One-line file descriptions will include notation of the recipe format
  68.     used when applicable.  Format abbreviations are as follows:

  70.                         (MM) = Meal-Master Format
  71.                         (QB) = Quikbook Format
  72.                         (MC) = MasterCook Format
  73.                         (OT) = Other Format

  80.  All files hatched into COOKFDN file areas will be announced in the
  81.  COOKFDN-SYSOPS echo.

  83.  Hatching of files into this FDN will be restricted to COOKFDN HQ nodes
  84.  (1:102/125, 1:333/359) only.  Files meeting COOKFDN guidelines may be
  85.  submitted for review by sending them (via email, file-attachment, or
  86.  direct BBS upload) to COOKFDN headquarters:

  102.  Files submitted for hatching should include adequate documentation,
  103.  and a file description in the form of a standard FILE_ID.DIZ file
  104.  (maximum of 10 lines, each line no more than 45 characters in length).

  106.  If you are unable to send your submission directly to one of the HQ
  107.  nodes, alternate arrangements for obtaining your file may be possible.

  125.  violation of COOKFDN policy, please notify the administrators so that
  126.  steps may be taken to remove the file from further distribution.
